Swaminathan Kumar is an Industry Strategy Lead at Atlan. He considers himself a creative person stuck in a logical world. He has been an eternal generalist throughout his career, starting in venture capital and data analytics, then moving to political strategy and consulting, then public policy in healthcare for the government of India, and now product marketing in the metadata and AI space for Atlan. He lives with is wife in New Delhi, India.
Atlan began as a data team called Social Cops that worked on projects with governments across Southeast Asia and philanthropic foundations such as the Gates Foundation. They built an internal data ops tool that made them six times more productive, and from there, Atlan was born. Today, Atlan is a data and governance platform and is one of the fastest growing B2B SaaS companies in their space and works with the likes of NASDAQ and General Motors.
In this episode, Swami describes how his role as a PMM working on a global team has evolved from day zero at Atlan to its current stage as a Series C company, why he travels so much, his favorite lightsaber color, and much more.
